Grace Zhu is a Vancouver-based painter working primarily with acrylic on canvas.
Her practice explores emotional memory, inner tension, and the quiet moments shaped by childhood experience. Rather than documenting reality, she uses distortion, layered color, and fragmented forms to reflect internal states that are often difficult to articulate.
As a self-taught artist, Zhu approaches painting intuitively. Each work becomes a container for emotion, not to resolve it, but to sit with it and allow space for both fracture and healing.
